Nunthorpe Athletic Under 13b are crowned Division 3 Champions

After a long hard fought season under 13b took the third division title much to the delight of the parents, players and the club. Losing only twice throughout the season the 13b won the title with plenty of matches left to play. Having completed the season as champions the Under 13b team went on to lift the Clubs coverted award of TEAM OF THE SEASON.

Well Done Under 13b's

Nunthorpe Athletic Under 13a are crowned Division 1 Champions

After yet another successful season the Under 13a team landed the Division 1 title for third consecutive year, highlighting the teams strength at this age group. Winning the league by 4 clear points they also went onto the County Cup Final where they were beaten by a strong Whinney Banks team. Another terrific season for the under 13s. Well Done to all the players.

Nunthorpe Athletic Under 16s are crowned Challenge Cup winners

The under 16s capped a very successful season off with a tremendous 3-2 Challenge Cup Final win at Hurworth. An excellent team performance ensured the under 16s brought home the cup. Adding this to a superb season in division 2 where they narrowly missed out on finishing runners up, the under 16 boys can be proud of their achievements this season. Well done to all the players

End of Season Round Up

The club have ended the season with many honors and some teams just missing out on honours

  • The under 9 team completed their first competitive season in division 1 in a very credible 4th position. Given the strength of the division this is an excellent achievement. They also reached the final of the League Cup being beaten 1-0 after extra time. Congratulations to all those players.
  • The under 10s finished in third place in the division 1 just behind a couple of strong Marton teams.
  • The under 11a and 12's achieved credible 6th place in their respective leagues, both featuring in division 1 of their respective age groups for the first season. With this in mind and some excellent performances throughout the season they can look forward to next season.
  • The under 14 boys made excellent progress in the latter stages of the season to finish strongly in 4th place of division 3
  • The under 14 girls finished in an excellent third spot of the Tees Valley Girls League. Add this to a county cup final appearance where they narrowly lost and are scheduled to play their League Cup final at the end of this month, it is quite easy to see why the girls season has been a huge success. So well done girls.

And as we all know, success is not always represented by winning cups or leagues. Many clubs battle through difficult seasons, loss of players, bad luck and come out the other end knowing they did their best and represented themselves and the club with pride.

All teams should consider their seasons a success, the under 11 B team despite finding themselves in a strong division coped very well and finished in a credible 9th position. Similar positional finishes in their respective leagues for the under 15a and under 15b teams but it is clear that both teams commitment to Nunthorpe and the club remained unwavering thoughout tough seasons for them.

Well done to everyone player, parent, manager and supporter connected to Nunthorpe Athletic after yet another great and successful season.
