Saturday Morning Football for most players is the starting point of their involvement in competitive junior football.

It is our aim to introduce young players between the ages of 5 and 10 into football, helping them develop new skills in the hope that they can eventually play competitively with one of our many junior teams. The sessions attract many players from different age groups but has a tendancy to fulfill the needs of younger players between 5 and 10 years old.

As a club each year we have successfully entered a new under 8 boys team into the FA affiliated Teesside junior Alliance League and this would not have been possible without the development of players through their involvemnet in the Saturday Morning Coaching Club held at the ground.

Under 8's is the earliest age that the FA will allow affiliated leagues to compete at. It is non competitive football which in essence means no points are awarded to teams for wins, draws losses etc. The idea behind this is that young players learn to enjoy the sport before pressures of winning and losing are experienced. Of course the fact that each match is physically won, lost or drawn means competitiveness remains and the children still learn and experience both winning and losing.

As importantly for the club we ensure that children experience an enjoyable and sociable session, interacting with new boys, making new friends and hopefully adopting a positive friendly attitude to team mates and opposition alike.

Saturday Morning Coaching can cater for ages upto 14. If your child is 5 and over, is able to give one and half hours concentration to the coaching and football put on then they are welcome to come along and take part. We charge a small admision charge to cover expenses of providing equipment being used.

Volunteer as one of our Saturday Morning Coaches

Saturday Morning Coaching Sessions are ran completely by volunteers. Could you spare 2 hours each week to help coach the children.
If you provide us with your commitment, the club will assist you to obtain your Level 1 Coaching Badge which will give you the necessary confidence and ideas to help you make the sessions your own.

NOTE: Anyone wishing to become involved will need to be prepared to allow the club to carry out a CRB check
